How a large piece is produced

Consultation and concept

You send an idea, sketch, reference or an existing 3D model. Together we determine the size, material and color.

3D model and splitting into parts

We optimize large pieces and split them for printing (the printer's build volume is limited), with precise joining points.

Printing, bonding and smoothing

We print each part, then bond and finely smooth the joints so that they are not visible.

Painting and finishing

Primer, spray or hand painting, and UV protection for outdoor use if needed. A weighted base for stability is also available on request.

Materials for large format

PLA

A standard material, good for indoor decoration, with a wide range of colors.

PETG

Resistant to impact and UV, suitable for outdoor placement (street furniture, shop windows).

ASA

Excellent resistance to weather and UV rays, ideal for permanent outdoor use. It retains its color even after prolonged exposure to the sun.

ABS

A strong and durable material, suitable for mechanical parts and functional components. Good resistance to higher temperatures.

Weighted bases

If needed, we embed a metal plate into the base for added stability on tall or exposed pieces.

Price of large-format 3D printing

The price depends on size, complexity, material and the extent of finishing (painting, artwork, base). Each project is prepared with an individual quote after reviewing your idea.

As a guide: a smaller decorative piece (up to 30 cm) ranges from €90–150, a larger piece (50 cm–1 m) from €150–500, and for pieces larger than a meter we prepare a quote based on complexity. Series production (10+ pieces) has a lower price per piece.

Frequently asked questions

How large a piece can you print?

The printer's standard build volume is limited (up to ~30 cm per piece); larger pieces are produced in parts and seamlessly bonded so that the final product looks like a single piece. The overall size is not significantly limited.

Do you also produce in series (multiple pieces)?

Yes. We have already produced a series of 100 promotional mascots for a corporate client. For series orders we offer a lower price per piece.

Which material do you recommend for outdoor placement?

PETG, which is resistant to weather and UV light. If needed, we add a UV protective varnish.

Can I send just a sketch or an idea?

Yes. From a sketch, photograph, digital model or written description we prepare a 3D model and a proposal before production.

How long does it take to produce a large piece?

Depending on size and complexity, usually 7–21 days. For a first order we recommend a test sample before series production.

Do you also make a weighted/stable base?

Yes, if needed we embed a metal plate into the base for added weight and stability, suitable for outdoor placement or exposed locations.

Custom large-format 3D printing

Large 3D-printed pieces require a different approach than standard desktop products. In addition to precise modeling, it is crucial to correctly split them into parts, seamlessly bond the joints and apply finishing that hides the fact that the product was made from several parts.
